3 killed in one-car crash in Upper Saucon Township

Authorities are investigating a one-car crash in Upper Saucon Township on night in which three people were killed.

The crash occurred at 8:37 p.m. in the 4400 block of Lanark Road, when their vehicle left the roadway and struck a tree. Three people were pronounced dead at the scene by Lehigh County Deputy Coroner Richard Kroon at 9:38 p.m., the coroner’s office said.

The three people were only identified in a news release as John Doe #1, John Doe #2 and Jane Doe. The coroner’s office said more information will be released once they are identified.

Autopsies are scheduled to determine the cause and manner of death.

The crash occurred on a stretch of road flanked by homes built in the 1940s and 1950s as well as the massive Traditions of America at Saucon Valley age-restricted housing development.

In addition to the coroner’s office, the crash is being investigated by the Upper Saucon Township Police Department and the Lehigh County District Attorney’s Office.
