Motorcyclist dies in crash during police chase in Wichita


WICHITA, Kan. (AP) — A 37-year-old Wichita man died when his motorcycle crashed during a police pursuit, the Sedgwick County Sheriff’s Office said.
A deputy tried to stop the driver near McConnell Air Force Base about 2:30 a.m. for a registration violation, spokesman Lt. Benjamin Blick said.
The driver lost control when the motorcycle hit a median less than a half-mile from where the chase started.
The driver was thrown from the cycle and died at the scene.
The name of the motorcyclist has not been released.
