Mother accused of shooting and killing two daughters in Pennsylvania


A mother is behind bars after police said she shot and killed her two daughters inside a house in Pennsylvania.

The fatal shooting occurred around 1:30 p.m. In a house on Maplewood Street in Ambridge. The news station reported that Umbridge police had arrived to find the two victims.

Police have arrested the mother of the victims, 48-year-old Cresinda Bright, for the murder.

John DeLuca, the interim commander of Cambridge Police, said investigators believed she was also the one who called 911 to report the shooting.

Although the police have not released the names or ages of the murdered Bright girls, one of them has been identified as a student at Ambridge High School in the Ambridge area.

In a letter to parents, the school said counselors will be available for students who need help coping with the loss, according to the news station.

“We are saddened by the loss of our school community and will do our best to help you and your child,” read the letter.

The authorities did not disclose the motive for the shooting.
