8 dead and 25 injured in a bus accident in Cameroon


Eight people were killed and at least 25 others injured when a bus collided with another vehicle on a highway in western Cameroon, police said.

In the accident, a number of passengers were evicted in the Fusang locality of the region along the Kutapa-Yaounde highway.

Local police took more than 25 people to hospitals after they were seriously injured.

Road accidents in Cameroon are often caused by reckless driving, poor condition of vehicles and roads, as well as overloading.

In January, at least 53 people were killed and 21 others seriously injured in an accident in the western village of Sancho.
