Four people, including a 6-year-old boy, were killed in a crash on Illinois Road 53 Saturday night in the suburb of Rolling Meadows.
A 32-year-old man was driving a 2018 jeep around 11:30 pm. Illinois State Police said he was on Route 53 when he collided with the rear of a Ford Fiesta that was parked on the right shoulder on Kirchhoff Road.
State Police said the collision caused the cars to veer across all lanes before stopping at the left shoulder.
State police announced the death of the 45-year-old driver and three passengers, a six-year-old boy, a 17-year-old boy and a 47-year-old woman. .
State police said the man who was driving the jeep was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
