Police said a 32-year-old man was fatally shot during a fight in Phoenix.
Phoenix Police responded to action near 16th Street and South Avenue around 10:15 p.m. After receiving reports of a quarrel, the spokeswoman was Sgt. She said Mercedes Fortune.
Fortune said that while the officers were responding, additional calls were made of gunfire being fired at the scene.
They found 32-year-old Walter Wood at the scene with gunshot wounds. Fortune said officers tried to administer first aid before the fire department arrived, but Wood was declared dead.
Officers discovered that a second victim, a 34-year-old man, was also injured in the fighting. Fortune said one of his friends took him to a nearby hospital with “serious injuries but not life threatening”.
As of Saturday morning, Fortune said, the Phoenix police had no description of the suspects because they left before the police arrived.
No further details were immediately available.
