Three teenagers died after crashing while fleeing Minneapolis police officers in a car suspected of being stolen early in the morning.
Minneapolis police say officers spotted a car, believed to have been taken during a car theft, near Dowling Avenue North and Logan Avenue North at around 1:15 a.m.
When the officers tried to tow the car, it ran away at high speed.
During the chase, police say the runaway car got too far ahead of the officers, then lost control near the 1800 building on North Emerson Avenue and rolled over several times.
Three young men died in the car in the accident. The family confirmed that the two victims were 15 and 13 years old.
The Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Arrests is investigating the incident.
