Nine people were injured – two of them in critical condition – when a gas explosion destroyed a three-story home in the Bronx Thursday afternoon, police and fire department officials said.
Authorities said the blast rocked a building on Boulding Street in Poplar Street in Westchester Square shortly after 3:20 pm.
The explosion appears to have occurred on the second floor.
City Emergency Management officials requested that the building’s structural stability be inspected, according to the city’s building management records.
