Two people, one of them fatal, were killed in Chicago and one was shot dead in Austin on the West Side.
The man, 32, was sitting in his car around 9 pm. Chicago Police said in Square 100 on South Cicero Street, when two men walked in and fired shots while trying to get away. He was beaten in the back and taken to Struger Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. The Cook County Medical Examiner’s office did not recognize the man.
In a non-fatal shooting, a man was seriously injured in a shooting at Lundel on the West Side. The 28-year-old was stopped in a car around 3:20 PM. On Roosevelt Street and Kilburn, when someone stopped next to him and opened fire, police said. He appeared in Mt. Sinai Hospital with gunshot wounds to the arm and back, and was listed in a critical condition.
Eight people were killed across the city, including two.
