A Chicago man was killed and two others seriously injured after the stolen car they were traveling in crashed on Interstate 65 in northwest Indiana.
Indiana State Police said in a statement that Walter Allen, 28, died after his Maserati Ghibli slipped into a ditch and crashed into a service pole.
State Police said the accident occurred at around 12:45 a.m. on the I-65 exit ramp leading to Gary Ridge Road.
State police said it was unclear why the car left the road.
Police declared him dead at the scene, while two passengers, 31 and 32, were hospitalized in critical condition.
State Police said the Maserati they were in was stolen from Chicago in December 2019.
Police said soldiers found two 9mm Glock pistols inside the car. One of the rifles was reported stolen in Georgia.
The investigation is underway.
