Two small planes collided, killing four people and scattering debris across the grasslands of southeast Australia.
Police and other emergency services were present at two separate crash sites in Mangalore, north of Victoria’s state capital, Melbourne.
Victoria Police said in a statement that two passengers of each plane were confirmed dead at the scene of the accident, and their identities had not yet been identified.
Aerial photos taken by local media showed the wreckage of two small planes in grassy areas.
The Civil Aviation Safety Authority and the Australian Transportation Safety Bureau have been notified.
