The New Orleans Police Department reported that gunfire killed one man and injured another in the evening in the city center.
At 5:08 p.m., NOPD Sixth District officers were called to Washington and Loyola Roads for a heavy battery by gunfire. Officers found two men with gunshot wounds.
One man died at the scene. The other was taken to hospital, where his condition is stable.
There are no additional details available at this time. The Orleans Coroner Parish office will determine the victim and the official cause of death upon completion of the autopsy and notifying the family.
