3 killed, 1 hospitalized after a police driver fled to Homestead

Police said three people were killed and another was taken to hospital after a driver who fled from a traffic point at Homestead veered into a canal.
A Homestead Police officer reported that on two occasions he tried to park a car with four people early in the morning.
Interrogators said the driver stopped both times, but switched off the headlights and took off, and the police were chasing them.
Officers later found the car in a canal near Block 2900 of East Palm Drive.
Three of the passengers did not survive.
A fourth person was transferred to Jackson South Medical Center in stable condition.
Police said they have found three males and a female, but have not identified them, while the investigation continues.
