Police are investigating an early morning crash in Homestead where a car got into a canal, killing three people.
Homestead Police got a call from a car that entered the canal around 5 a.m. near East Palm Drive west of 142nd Street, near the Homestead-Miami Speedway.
Miami-Dade fire rescue teams arrived at the scene and removed three victims from the water, all of whom were declared dead in area hospitals.
Officials have not revealed the identity of any victims at this time.
Homestead Police say officers attempted to stop several times in the early morning of a car that ran away each time, but officials did not say whether that same vehicle was involved in the accident.
