Police ask witnesses to come forward after one person is killed and two others are shot in a Weymouth apartment complex. It happened just before 3am along Patriot Parkway.
One person was fatally wounded. He was later identified as 30-year-old Eric Small from Cambridge. Two others were injured, and one person was injured at the scene.
Weymouth Police said the accident may have been caused by an event inside one of the apartments. A small was found near one of the entrances to the building.
“It’s horrible. Nobody wants to hear that.” “I feel sorry for anyone involved,” said Jamie Yetra, a resident of the compound.
Investigators closed the car park on Sunday for most of the day.
There were no arrests but police said there was no threat to the public.
Residents who heard the commotion and gunfire early this morning say that this is not the first incident they have experienced in this compound. Many are deeply disturbed and fear for their safety.
“Selfishly as a resident I don’t feel safe. I hope I can get out of here soon. There have been problems in the past with drag races here.”
Investigators said that several people likely left the area as the shooting began. Anyone who has been in the townhouse complex or witnessed the shooting is required to contact the police.
