Officials said authorities opened an investigation after police in Pennsylvania shot and killed a man who was pursuing them following an armed robbery and brandishing a weapon.
The events unfolded when government forces responded to a local dispute in which a pistol was used to assault a victim at a trailer park in Woodward Township, state police said.
According to officials, Clifford Wilbur Jr., 38, fled the scene and then robbed a store at gunpoint. Police chased and Wilbur’s car crashed.
State Police said Wilbur produced a pistol and soldiers and officers opened fire. A county judge declared Wilbur dead.
The state police and the Liking County Prosecutor’s Office are investigating the shooting.
