Authorities say several people were shot at a Minnesota health clinic and one person was subsequently detained. Kelly Prestige, an office manager at the Buffalo Police Department, said the shooting occurred at Alina’s clinic in Buffalo, about 40 miles northwest of Minneapolis. She said one person was detained, but she did not know if he was the shooter.
Prestige also said it had no additional information about the attack, including how many people were shot or if anyone was killed.
Buffalo Police Chief Pat Budke said the shooting took place inside the Allina Clinic Crossroads campus. He said the situation was contained until 11:42 a.m. and there was no ongoing threat to public safety. Bodeka added that there were casualties, although “we do not know of any dead at this time.”
He said that the bomb squad in Minneapolis is heading to the scene to inspect and clear the site where the accident occurred.
Police later confirmed that a person was in custody.
A spokeswoman for the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms said that the agency’s staff had gone to the scene.
