3 people killed in 7 shootings in 10 hours across Indianapolis


The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department is investigating a series of seven shootings, including three killings.

It started with the shooting victim at around 8:40 PM. The two are at St. Vincent’s Hospital on the north side. The only information about the shooting now is that the victim was a male.

Then, around 9:05 pm, a woman was killed at an intersection on the eastern side. Police say this happened when she was a passenger in the car at thirty and post office. The car arrived at the st and mail by the time the officers arrived.

Police say someone shot the car and it is too early to say whether it was random or targeted. It is not known if the driver was injured.

At 10:22 PM, another man entered St. Vincent with a gunshot. Details surrounding the shooting are unknown.

Around midnight, a person was shot in the 5800 block of Wildflower Circle on the northwest side. Police say a man was taken to hospital in critical condition after he was injured during an altercation at a family gathering.

The second fatal shooting occurred at around 1 am Tuesday morning on the western side. Police say a man returned to his Westbrook Street home and found his roommate with a visible gunshot wound. The officers announced that man was dead.

At around 5 a.m., a woman was found shot dead inside a laundromat at 38 o’clock and Sherman on the east side. She was later identified by the Marion Coroner County Office as 30-year-old Michael Spaulding.

A third shooting incident was reported at 6:45 AM, this time at Eastern Community Hospital on Ritter Street. The victim’s condition is unknown.

No arrests were made in any of the investigations.
