JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (AP) — Two men and a woman were killed in a shooting at an apartment complex in Jacksonville, sheriff’s officials said.
A Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office gang unit was nearby on an unrelated deployment and heard gunfire about 10 p.m, officials said.
Officers saw a vehicle leaving the Calloway Cove Apartments and attempted to make a traffic stop, sheriff’s officials said. The vehicle sped away but was stopped a few miles away when a patrol car hit it.
Investigators said multiple people were taken into custody, and several firearms were confiscated inside the vehicle. The vehicle had been reported stolen in Clay County.
Meanwhile officers found the apartment where the gunfire erupted from and discovered the bodies, officials said.
The names of the victims or the people taken into custody have not been arrested.
