Detroit Police said a woman was shot dead and a 10-year-old boy was seriously injured after being shot in the legs in southwest Detroit.
Police said a 40-year-old woman was shot dead Tuesday afternoon at Ethel and Downing intersection. A 10-year-old boy was hit by a bullet in the legs and was taken to hospital with serious injuries.
Police said they believed the woman who was shot was the child’s mother.
Police said two men left in a black car, but no further details were available.
Police said a darkened SUV had multiple shots.
The exact nature of what triggered the shooting is unknown.
