2 teens killed, one wounded in Mississippi shooting


Two people were killed in a West Street shooting in Jackson, Mississippi

Just before five in the evening. A video clip was posted on social media showing what appears to be a bullet-riddled vehicle with a wounded person inside.

Moments later, police swept West Street and Mitchell Street with blue lights.

Pathologist Sharon Gresham Stewart later confirmed that two people had been shot at this site.

Sam Browne of Jackson Police Department said one of the men was shot in the head and another in the neck area. They were sitting inside a car that was reported stolen earlier in the day.

Brown identified the two victims, Carlos Stewart, 18, and Marilyn Thompson, 14.

A 17-year-old man was hit by a bullet in the shoulder. He was in the same car and taken to a local hospital. His condition is unknown at this time.
