Passengers transiting through oakland International Airport during the pandemic can now take a COVID-19 test as if they were a bag of chips or a pair of headphones.
For around $ 150, travelers can purchase DIY saliva sampling tests from vending machine kiosks at each terminal.
“We have realized that travelers are going through a difficult time right now, especially as we are all dealing with the COVID pandemic,” said Roberto Bernardo, a spokesperson for Auckland Airport. “We wanted to give travelers another option to test.”
Airport officials said Oakland International is the first in the United States to sell COVID-19 tests in vending machines.
