The Athens and Clark Fire Department said in a statement that firefighters found the bodies of the victims early in the morning in Athens after a neighbor called to report the fire.

Nathan Moss, Nathan Moss, told the newspaper that the boy who survived the fire suffered minor burns and smoke inhalation. The child was taken to hospital for treatment.
The cause of the fire is still being investigated, but Athens-Clark Police Lieutenant Sean Barnett said there was no evidence of tampering.
