3 dead, 1 hospitalized after a fire in Mobile Home Park

Three people have died and a child is hospitalized after a fire in a house in a mobile home garden in Georgia.

The Athens and Clark Fire Department said in a statement that firefighters found the bodies of the victims early in the morning in Athens after a neighbor called to report the fire.

The Athena Banner Herald reported that the victims were two women and a girl. The authorities said that their bodies were taken to the government crime lab for positive identification.

Nathan Moss, Nathan Moss, told the newspaper that the boy who survived the fire suffered minor burns and smoke inhalation. The child was taken to hospital for treatment.

The cause of the fire is still being investigated, but Athens-Clark Police Lieutenant Sean Barnett said there was no evidence of tampering.

“This is a tragic loss in our community. Our thoughts and prayers are with the victims’ friends and families,” said Jeff Scarbro, Chief Fire Officer at Athena Clark.
