The Chief of Oregon Police confirmed that a shooting incident in Salem, Oregon, resulted in the deaths of one suspect, including one suspect.
“The District Police Office has dealt with an incident involving the potential for taking hostages in a house southeast of Salem,” the Marion County Police Chief said in a statement.
The statement added, “a trained negotiator spoke with the suspect in order to rescue the hostages.”
And the statement continued, “There was shooting, and in the end several people were killed, including the suspect.”
The Oregon State Police Office said police are investigating the shooting, and any police officers involved will be placed on administrative leave during the investigation.
