
Authorities say three men escaped from a prison in southeast Missouri after removing a large block from the cell wall.
Iron County Sheriff Geoff Burkett said the escape happened around 4:30 a.m. Ironton Police said in a press release that they were armed and that authorities did not know which direction they were heading.
The St. Louis Post-Dispatch reported that the men wanted were 57-year-old Tracy Brown, 36-year-old Dwight Abernathy, and 35-year-old Samuel Gillam.
Brown is facing second-degree burglary and burglary possession charges. Abernathy was imprisoned for assault in the first degree. Ghillam is accused of interfering with custody.
