Police said at least one person was killed and 17 injured when a shooting broke out late in the wake of an altercation at a party in Cleveland, Ohio, attended by a number of motorcycle clubs.
A 48-year-old man was found dead with multiple gunshots when Cleveland Police officers responded to an address in a neighborhood on the East Side of town around 11:30 PM. Police said that many other victims left the scene in private cars and began reaching different hospitals.
Police said they learned that there was a party at which “multiple motorcycle clubs” were being held. A fight broke out and some people were expelled from the party, but they returned fire on other people, and some responded.
Authorities said 18 people, including male and female victims, were shot and treated in different hospitals. Injuries range from minor to severe, although police did not immediately provide details of the victims or the extent of their injuries.
Police said the case had “multiple shooters” and was still under investigation.
