9 killed in a fire crash in western Mexico

Nine people were killed and 12 others injured in a fire accident on a highway in western Mexico.

The Jalisco State Civil Defense Office said emergency personnel were working to extract the bodies of nine people from the burning chassis of the truck.

The prosecutor’s office said the bodies were badly burned and it was difficult to determine the number of dead.

The office said the truck was traveling between Guadalajara, the state capital, and the town of Lagos de Moreno, when it collided with the rear of a parked shoulder cargo truck and caught fire.
