A man raped his daughter for 22 years

A father who repeatedly raped his daughter for 22 years and fathered eight children with her was sentenced to 12 years in prison after a trial in a court in the northern city of Santiago del Estero, Argentina.

Domingo Bolasio, 57, showed no remorse and no sign of emotion when he was accused of multiple sexual offenses. Polacio, better known by the nickname Vernacho, was on the run for 45 days and arrested in January 2016. He has been in custody ever since. After his victim, locally named Antonia, approached the police for help, Vernacho fled his home in Villa Balnearia, an hour’s drive from Santiago del Estero. Antonia told the police that her father treated her like a slave. She claimed that he started sexually assaulting her when she was barely 11 years old.

Antonia said, “From the moment my mom left the house, I became my father’s wife. He was hitting me and was chasing me around the house with a piece of wood when he saw me talking to a neighbor or simply wanted to offend me. He was threatening me constantly and I was always afraid for my life. He told me he would kill me. If I say anything. “

According to reports, DNA tests confirmed that the children were Vernacho’s children. Six of the eight children lived in a charity boarding school. However, they are now back and live with their mother. Antonia has claimed that she has been receiving death threats from some relatives since she filed a complaint against her father.

She said, “I am afraid for my life and the lives of my children because I receive threats from my father’s relatives to withdraw my complaint against him.” “They are not worried at all about what happened. I want him to rot in prison. I want justice to be served,” she added.

About 50 witnesses, including relatives, testified during the session and the public prosecutor demanded 15 years imprisonment for the rapist father.

However, Antonia’s case is not an isolated case. This incident is similar to that of Elizabeth Fritzl, who also suffered the abuse of her father, Josef Fritzl. Fritzl was held for 24 years in the basement of her family’s home in Amstetten, Austria. She gave birth to seven children and had a miscarriage. Her father is currently serving a life sentence.
