One person was killed and four others were injured after a half-truck hit an acoustic barrier in a house in Mesa.
According to the Mesa Police Department, a half truck was heading east on US Route 60 near Cresson Road at 7 p.m. when it exited the highway in Crimson, failed to stop, and crashed into the house.
There were 10 people inside the house at the time of the accident, and one of them, 50-year-old Todd Webber, was declared dead in hospital. And none of the other residents were believed to have been seriously injured.
The truck driver was slightly injured.
The investigation is ongoing and the damage has not been ruled out, however, no charges have been brought against the driver of the half-truck at this time. Investigators believe the driver may have suffered a medical emergency prior to the accident.
Mesa Police said the accident caused a hazardous material situation due to the fuel leak.
Crismon on-ramp on eastbound US-60 is closed. It is not known when the slope will reopen.
Arizona Department of Transportation footage shows how deep the truck is inside the house.
