
Houston Police are investigating the murder of a man in southeast Houston.
Officials said the shooting occurred shortly after 7:30 p.m. At the 8700 block of Gulf Highway at the Smile Inn.
When they arrived at the scene, authorities said, they found an apartment door open and saw a male victim, in his late forties, on the ground, who had been shot multiple times in the chest and leg.
Police said EMS was called to the scene, but the man was pronounced
Authorities said preliminary information indicated that the victim had opened the door to two suspects, whom he may have known because he had allowed them entry.
Police said the victim then sat, and appeared to be playing video games, when the shooting occurred.
An eyewitness told the police that they saw two people running outside the apartment and after a few steps, one of them actually turned around, took a bag, and left.
The authorities have not released any suspicious information.
