Officials said, Tuesday, that a 14-year-old boy shot and killed five members of his family at their home in Alabama before throwing the pistol away and calling the police, in the latest shooting.
A spokesman for the Limestone County Police Office told the media that the shooting took place in the town of Elkmon.
The warden’s office said five people were shot, three died at the scene and two later in hospital. “The 14-year-old caller was interviewed and admitted to shooting his five family members at the house,” she said on Twitter.
“He is currently helping investigators locate the weapon, which is a 9mm pistol that he said he threw nearby.”
It was not clear where the young man got the gun.
