California is the first state to record more than two million cases of corona

California has become the first state in which coronavirus infections exceeded two million, just six weeks after reaching one million, according to data from Johns Hopkins University.

The rate of corona infection in California in terms of the number of cases per 100,000 people is lower than the average in the United States, but with 40 million people, it surpasses other states in terms of numbers.

More than 23,500 California residents have died from the virus since the pandemic began.

The state has witnessed a dramatic increase in the number of cases in recent weeks, followed by high hospitalization and death rates that overwhelmed intensive care units and prompted hospitals to treat patients in offices and halls.
