Authorities said a pregnant woman was killed by a fatal bullet during a local shooting in North Carolina, and the man suspected of killing her died of his gunshot wounds.
Fayetteville police said in a statement that officers who responded to the shooting site Sunday evening in Fayetteville found victim Sarah Lewis, 34, with multiple bullet wounds. Lewis was brought to the hospital, where she died. Police said the unborn child also died from wounds sustained during the shooting.
The death of the suspect, Keith Lewis, was announced at the scene. The police did not provide information about the relationship between the victim and the suspect.
Officials said there was another juvenile in the house during the shooting but the child was unharmed. This child was put together with other family members.
