Two people have been arrested in Missouri for allegedly assaulting a woman and her two children. The attack also resulted in the death of the woman’s 4-year-old daughter.
The girl’s father, known as James Mast, aged 28, said the accused hit the girl and doused her in a pool.
The mother and her two-year-old child were also severely beaten. They were taken to hospital and treated for their injuries.
Benton County Sheriffs responded to the Cole Camp home after MAST reported the incident to them
Mast told the authorities that his daughter was “left to freeze in the bank before being brought home,” as the Benton County sheriff’s office wrote in a Facebook post.
“After an investigation by Benton County MPs, Ethan J. Mast, 35, and Courtney T. Omen, 21, were arrested from a neighboring house awaiting multiple criminal charges,” the post said. “This is still an active investigation with the possibility of more arrests, so we cannot provide any other details at the moment,” he added.
In a recent incident, two children were permanently maimed after being beaten and burned. A 27-year-old woman from North Las Vegas was arrested and charged with two counts of child abuse which resulted in significant bodily harm.
In another case, a babysitter was charged with the murder of a 2-year-old girl in Atlanta. The victim was identified as Fallon Friedley. The defendant, Kirsty Flood, has been charged with two counts of felony murder, one count of premeditated murder, battery aggravation and cruelty to children.
The investigation began after authorities received a report of an unresponsive child inside an apartment in Sandy Springs. Emergency officials arrived at the scene and took the girl to the Children’s Care Center in Atlanta, where she was pronounced dead. Flood initially told investigators that the girl had hit her head on a sledge in a park and did not wake up. However, the autopsy report showed that the child’s injuries were not consistent with the flood story.
He was later beaten to death.
