Police are investigating the death of a 17-year-old boy by a fatal bullet in Minneapolis overnight.
According to police, at around 2:25 am, officers were in the 3200 area of Aldrich Avenue North when they heard multiple gunshots. Shortly thereafter, 911 calls came to report the sound of gunfire.
There was also a call from North Memorial Medical Center advising that someone, described as a 17-year-old male, had just come by private transport. This person was shot and was in critical condition. He later died in hospital.
The authorities believe the victim was involved in a confrontation that escalated into gunfire. The suspects fled before the officers arrived.
