A medic was accused of raping a young woman while she was being transported to hospital after she tested positive for the Coronavirus. The alleged victim, 19, accused the driver known as V Noufal – a habitual known for having committed several criminal cases against him – of attacking her in Pathanamthitta district in Kerala, India, on Saturday night. Nofal took her and another 42-year-old woman from Adour Governmental General Hospital to transfer them to specialized Corona virus treatment centers. He drove the older woman to a center in Aranmola and then took a secluded road to the Firstline Covid Treatment Center in Pandalam, Kerala state, before taking off the PPE and rape, as the alleged victim claims.
She said that the medic apologized after the attack and then threatened her not to tell anyone. When I got to the hospital, I told the staff about the rape, with Nawfal being arrested Sunday morning, the Indian Express reported. Health Minister KK Shilaga described the alleged attack as “shocking” and “inhuman”.

In the same month, a boy and two of his friends allegedly drugged and raped a 17-year-old girl en masse. A few days before that, horrific details were revealed of the rape and murder of a 10-year-old disabled girl in Jaipur
