Police are investigating in Murfreesboro after a construction worker ran over and killed by a road paver.
The accident was reported at around 12:30 p.m. On Butler Drive.
According to police, construction workers with Rollins Excavation were in the process of finishing shoulder work at the time of the accident. The paver driver was reportedly backing down to allow a dump truck to unload gravel when it backed the flag.
Police said the driver was not aware that the shepherd was behind.
21-year-old Nicholas Patrick Oliver died at the scene.
Police said no charges were expected.
The accident is still under investigation.
