Alaska State Soldiers say they have arrested a suspect after four people were found dead at two locations in Matanuska-Susitna Borough.
The soldiers did not reveal the name of the detained person, but said he was considered a suspect in all four of the deaths.
At around 3:12 a.m., soldiers received reports of gunfire near Sylvan Lane and Hollywood Road in Wasilla. Soldiers say 18-year-old Wasila’s Cody Rowell was shot by a person driving a white Jeep Patriot.
Less than half an hour later, the Palmer Police Department received reports of another shooting, this time at N. Valley Way in Palmer. When the police responded, they found 43-year-old Kimura Buster, 7-year-old Elison Buster, and 10-year-old Sienna Buster, all of Palmer residents, dead. The soldiers said that a child was found in the house intact. The soldiers said in a cable that the suspect was no longer at the scene.
The soldiers said that the four individuals knew each other and were related.
The soldiers say the driver of the white Patriot Jeep is the suspect in the shooting. At around 4:07 a.m. on Monday, forces stopped the male suspect in a white Patriot jeep on the Glen Expressway near Mirror Lake. The suspect is now held at Palmer Soldiers Center and is likely to be charged in connection with the four deaths.
An investigation is underway between state forces and the Palmer Police Department.
