Authorities said a 21-year-old pregnant woman died after being shot while riding on a motorcycle on a central California highway.
Savannah Troin fell off the bike and was run over by at least one vehicle after an early shooting on State Route 41 south of Fresno, according to the California Highway Patrol.
Fresno B said the CHP is investigating the case as a murder, and no information has been released about a suspect or potential motive.
Truen’s father, James Castro, told The Bee that his daughter was two and a half months pregnant with her first child. He said she was scheduled to enter the drug abuse treatment program on Monday.
“Savannah, she was a firecracker. It could be the head of a joint. She should have done it her way. She was looking forward to being a mother.”
The man driving the motorcycle remained at the scene and was interrogated by the officers.
Police said the car that hit the woman also remained and the driver was cooperating with the investigation.
