Brazilian authorities confirmed the killing of 12 people, including 6 policemen, during an armed robbery at a bank in the northeastern city of Milagres.
Local media reported that 5 hostages, including two children, were killed in the exchange of fire after the police intervened to arrest an armed gang while stealing money from ATMs on the main street of the city of Milagres in the state of Ceará.
According to local media reports, the hostages who were killed were members of the family of a local businessman, and the gunmen kidnapped them with their car.
The police managed to arrest two of the gunmen, while one gunman was killed and the others fled without having any money.
Police are searching for the culprits and using a helicopter during the search.
