The Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) announced the arrest of a man who worked as a pastor at a church in Milton after he was found in possession of and uploaded child pornography.
William Dalton Milam, 62, is charged with 2 counts of promoting child sexual advances and 25 counts of possession of child pornography. He is listed as a pastor on the website of the Olive Baptist Church.
FDLE says the investigation began with an electronic signal from the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children of an internet user downloading child pornography.
FDLE agents tracked the IP address used to upload to Milam’s residence, as FDLE explains in the.
FDLE says that during a search warrant carried out at Milam’s home, agents found multiple Milam devices containing child pornography. The pictures depicted children as young as three years old engaging in sexual acts.
The FDLE adds that the Santa Rosa County sheriff’s office, the Milton Police Department and Homeland Security Investigation aided the case.
Milam Day was arrested and held in Santa Rosa County Jail without support.
FDLE says the attorney general’s office will take over the trial.
