One person is shot and another arrested after a protest at the Capitol campus in Olympia, Washington.
Washington State Patrol soldiers did not immediately present the victim’s status to reporters.
The shooting came two hours after sporadic skirmishes near the Capitol, as supporters of President Donald Trump gathered to protest the presidential election results and to call for schools to reopen.
Demonstrations – and violent conflicts with protesters – have become a regular occurrence over the weekend in the state’s capital city.
At one point, roads near 11th Avenue and Capitol Way were closed, then protesters moved through a downtown corridor, and police later issued dispersal orders and declared riots in the area.
