Time magazine awarded LeBron James, star of the Los Angeles Lakers, a competitor in the NBA, the Athlete of the Year award.
The magazine reviewed some of the sporting achievements and humanitarian activities carried out by James, to confirm his deserving of the award, including his selection last October as the best player in the NBA Finals for the fourth time in his career, thus becoming the first player in the history of the American League to win the award with three teams Different, as he got it with the Miami Heat in 2012 and 2013, and with the Cleveland Cavaliers in 2016.
Last season, James led the Los Angeles Lakers to crown the “NBA” title, for the first time since 2010, when the team was crowned with legend Kobe Bryant, who died in his helicopter crash in January.
Time noted that James’ participation in public campaigns to combat racial inequality in the United States, and according to the magazine, many famous American athletes have joined the activity along the lines of James.
The athlete also helped, in particular, in urging young people to work in the polling stations before the US presidential elections on the third of last November, to replace older workers, to protect them from infection with the Coronavirus.
