One person was killed early in the morning after one vehicle crashed on Cedar Avenue South Avenue in Minneapolis.
Just before 5 a.m., officers responded to a report of a crash near the intersection of 45th East Street and Cedar Avenue South, according to a press release. Upon arrival, officers identified a man in his 30s behind the wheel of a truck with no pulse, no breathing.
The officers unloaded the man from the truck and began CPR. Paramedics arrived and took him to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced dead shortly.
Police say preliminary investigations indicate speed and drugs may be contributing factors to the fatal accident.
The Hennepin County medical examiner will disclose the victim’s identity as well as the nature and cause of his death at a later date.
The accident is still under investigation.
