Prosecutors said a father of four in Southern California is accused of beheading his teenage son and his 12-year-old daughter and assaulting his two other children.
The Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office announced that Maurice Joel Taylor Sr., 34, faces two criminal charges each of murder and child abuse under conditions or circumstances likely to cause significant bodily injury or death.
Taylor is due to be called and it is not known if he has a lawyer.
Taylor is charged with stabbing a 13-year-old boy and a 12-year-old girl in Lancaster, according to a press release. Prosecutors said that presumably his two other sons, ages 8 to 9, were shown the bodies of their siblings and forced to stay in their bedrooms for several days without food
Taylor worked in a physical therapy center in Santa Monica, but was conducting online training sessions during the coronavirus pandemic. CBS Los Angeles reported that some of his clients called the authorities after he failed to appear on scheduled dates, leading to the discovery of victims.
