A military soldier killed three people at a military airport near the city of Voronezh. A source in the regional emergency services said that he was barricaded on the territory of a military unit.
He said, “A soldier fired with a pistol he took from an officer. Three people were killed. Now [the attacker] is barricaded in the [military] unit’s territory.”
The press office of the Regional Administration confirmed the shooting. A source from TASS also said one of the victims survived and was in the intensive care unit.
Baltimore Military Airport, part of the Air Force Academy named after Professor N. Zhukovsky and Yu. Gagarin, has been in repair for more than seven years. In December 2019, plans were announced to complete it by September or October 2020. Its runway is designed for all types of modern aircraft, both military and civilian.
