Texas Governor said 26 people were killed in a church shooting in the town of Sutherland Springs.
He said that 26 “innocent people were shot dead.” “As a country, we are dealing with the largest mass shooting in the history of the state,” he added.
Freeman Martin of the Texas Department of Public Safety said that a white man in his twenties carrying a rifle entered the church at 11:30 local time and began shooting. According to him, the gunman was wearing a bulletproof vest. The suspect fled the scene and was later found dead in his car. Martin added that it was unclear if his death affected herself.
Meanwhile, Alexander Pisarev, the Russian Consul General in Houston, Texas, told TASS that there were no foreigners among the victims and wounded. “An official from the US State Department called all consulates, saying that there were no foreigners among the shooting victims,” he added.
