The governor of Texas reported that twenty people were killed in a mass shooting in an El Paso mall.
“Twenty innocent people from El Paso have died and more than twenty others have been injured,” he said. “As a country, we unite to support victims and their family members. We want to do everything we can to help them.” Abbott expressed gratitude to the law enforcement officers who arrived at the scene and managed to apprehend the suspect.
El Paso police chief reported that at least 26 people were injured in the attack. He refused to confirm the name of the gunman.
The Mexican president confirmed on Twitter that three Mexicans were killed and six wounded in the attack. Earlier, the Russian Consulate in Houston informed that there were no Russian citizens among the wounded or dead, expressing condolences to the families of the victims.
