A young man was killed after police said he was shot multiple times while attempting an afternoon car hijacking in East German Town.
Officers responded to CVS Pharmacy at 6300 Block of Stenton Street shortly before 1 p.m.
According to police, a 59-year-old man was in the parking lot when a man tried to steal his car. During a fight between the two men, the victim called for help.
A security officer came to help the victim and shot the suspect at least three times. The man was taken to the Albert Einstein Medical Center, where he died.
No arrests have been reported at this time. Investigators are working to determine the events surrounding the fatal car hijack.
