Officials said two people were killed when a small plane crashed in rural northeast Arkansas.
Residents called 911 to report a small plane flying at a low altitude in the town of Franklin, about 100 miles (160 kilometers) northeast of Little Rock, said Gary Dickerson, director of the Isard County Emergency Department, and emergency teams discovered two bodies in the wreckage. .
The National Transportation Safety Board said the plane was a two-seater PA38.
Jonesboro TV station KAIT reported that the plane, which was recorded to Arkansas Pilot Development, was traveling between two small airports in northern Arkansas.
